A CHARITY dedicated to combating youth homelessness is set to brave the cold to raise awareness of the issue as the winter nights draw in.
Nightsafe, who will hold the all-night event in Blackburn town centre on December 6, wants as many residents as possible to join their team and take part in fundraising for the event.
Money donated on the night will go towards continuing to provide accommodation, support and workshops for young people aged 16 to 25.
Last year 722 people visited the centre on at least one occasion, an increase of 12 per cent on previous years.
Office and finance manager Diane Page said: “We did this in 2010 and raised £12,000 so would be lovely if we got more than that this time around to raise much needed money that will help the young people who use our centres.”
