EMERGENCY Services were called to a row of flats in Daubhill — but the alert turned out to be a case of burnt toast.
Firefighters, police and paramedics attended the scene at Smethurst Court at about 4.20pm on Saturday.
A smoke alarm had gone off in one of the residential flats after an elderly man had burned some toast.
After checking that the man was uninjured, the crews were able to leave the scene.
