Copper lightning conductor hacked from Darwen Tower

VANDALS have struck again at Darwen Tower, this time removing part of a lightning conductor.
Friends of Darwen Tower chairman Stephen Potter said it had been reported to him by a regular visitor to the tower.
He said: “It appears someone has cut a piece of the copper conductor out from the inside of the tower.
They must have had a hacksaw or something to get it off.” Mr Potter said he hoped to set up a meeting to get the friends’ group back up and running in the coming weeks.
It comes a few weeks after the tower suffered graffiti damage.
