Police told of Blackburn drug deal

POLICE told about a drug deal having taken place behind the Brown Cow pub on Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn found three wraps of cannabis when they later stopped the car which had been seen at the scene.
Andrew James Stone, 29, of Selborne Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 costs.
Stone accepted he had bought three £10 bags of cannabis.
Ian Huggan, defending, said Stone had suffered from anxiety.
He said: “Someone suggested he tried cannabis and he found it worked better than prescribed medication.”
