A LIVE night-time car crash display is to be set up to highlight the dangers of drink driving.
Known as ‘Reflect’, the event will see the emergency services get to work as if there had been a real life incident.
It will be held tomorrow (fri) from 11pm in Manchester Road, Burnley.
Actors will play crash victims, including the driver, who acts like he has been drinking alcohol before the crash.
Updates will be tweeted live from @BurnleyPolice with the hashtag #alcoholharm People will also be able to watch the story on a large projector screen near Wetherspoons.
Traffic Ch Insp Viki Crorken: “We really want to show revellers and other members of the public just how serious the consequences of getting into a car and driving after drinking alcohol are.”
The event coincides with In Focus: Alcohol Harm initiative; a week-long national campaign to highlight the realities of drunkenness and alcohol-related incidents.
