Venues have been announced for the first Chorley Live event.
The two-day entertainment festival, due to take place on October 4 and 5, will see 160 live performances in over 20 venues across the town.
Among the venues hosting live entertainment will be the Chorley Library, The Town Hall and St George’s Church.
Many of the town’s restaurants, pubs and cafes will also be involved including the Cosmopolitan, The Imperial and Déjà-Vu.
Other venues are the Leigh Arms/Station Hotel, The Railway, Woodchats Coffee Shop, Pearsons, Last Orders, Chorley Little Theatre (Saturday only), Knitty Nora’s (Saturday only), St Laurence’s Church, Ebb and Flo bookshop (Friday only), Rose and Crown, White Hart, The George, and Parmesan and Pepper.
A wristband, priced at £5 and free for children, will give open entry into all the events for the weekend.
Nigel Stewart, of joint organisers the Creative Network who will be organising the acts, said he hoped it would bring a real community feel back into the town.
He said: “We’ve had a brilliant response so far and we’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the people wanting to take part.
“When we’ve been talking to people about the event a lot of people have said this is just what Chorley needs so I hope it will be well supported by local people.
“If you like, it’ll be like Glastonbury without the mud.”
