National education scheme praises Accrington school's extra-curricular activities

A NATIONAL educational scheme has praised an East Lancashire high school for its extra-curricular success.
Hollins Technology College in Accrington has been awarded ‘Quality in Extended Services’ recognition by a university programme.
The Quality in Extended Learning scheme from Canterbury Christ Church University has named the Hollins Lane school as offering high quality provision.
Canterbury Christ Church University Senior Lecturer, Ian Durrant, said: “The Hollins Technology College tackled this process with enthusiasm and commitment. They povide a variety of extra-curricular activities which develop individual interests and talent.
“Each year pupils participate in numerous visits, excursions and creative projects that serve to bring the curriculum to life and promote the enjoyment of learning.”
