ROTARIANS have been up to their armpits in water after fishing out loose change dropped into the Last Drop Hotel wishing well.
The Rotary Club of Turton decided on the clear out of the well, which contained three years of donations by members of the public of both copper and silver.
Rotary member Peter Gaskell said: “As it hadn't been done in about three years we decided to gather in all the donations from the well.
“I think the last time it was undertaken there were five years worth of donations, which amounted to between £500 and £600. However, until we have cleaned and counted the coins we don’t know how much we have this time.”
The well donations will form part of an overall annual £25,000 fundraising effort, which also includes proceeds from a duck race and a festive Christmas Santa sleigh.
