Cyclist found seriously injured in Astley Bridge dies
A CYCLIST found seriously injured on a dual-carriageway has died.
The 40-year-old was injured when he fell from his bike in Moss Bank Way, near Berkeley Road, Astley Bridge, at 10.15pm on Thursday, August 15.
He suffered serious head injuries and was in a critical condition at Salford Royal Hospital.
The man, who has not been named by police, died in hospital this morning.
Initially police thought a third party may have been involved but said investigations revealed a crime had not taken place.
He was found on the road by a passing driver and a police officer on patrol.
