At Bolton magistrates court Robin Gibbons, business rates manager for Bolton Council applied for a liability order to be made against St Gregory Club Ltd.
The company had failed to pay £329.01 business rates for the financial year up until the sale of the club to new owners on May 13, despite being sent a bill and a reminder. A liability order means the council can now take further action to recover the debt if payment is not made immediately.
The premises in Church Street, Farnworth, are now run as a pub after the club’s licence was surrendered in July last year.
The current owners of St Gregory’s pub declined to comment.
