Pride in Jacqui’s new job
THE new president of Bury Lions is Jacqui Sorfleet.
It’s the second time she has been at the helm of the club and Jacqui has given 12 years of service to the Lions. She is also treasurer and a director and works extremely hard for the organisation.
Meanwhile, three new members have been inducted into Bury Lions.
They are Jayne Caffrey, Debbie Walker and Kim Dawson. Anyone is welcome to attend club meetings which are held at the Old White Lion on Bolton Street, Bury, every first and third Thursday of each month at 8pm. Those wishing to come along are asked to give advance warning of a few days.
Bury Lions will be holding a charity tombola in the Mill Gate outside the former Marks and Spencer store in Schorndorf Square on Saturday, September 7 from 9am until about 4pm or until the prizes have gone. The shopping centre is sponsoring the event by providing the floor space.
The club’s carnival cheque presentation will take place at the Elizabethan Suite on Monday, September 9, beginning at 7.30pm.
