CLITHEROE Post Office is set to close for more than two weeks while refurbishments are carried out.
The branch will be modernised with a new open plan interior with five serving positions and the store will be open for an extra five hours on Saturdays.
There will be two screened and two open-plan serving positions and a serving point at the retail counter.
The Post Office will close at 12.30pm on Saturday, September 21, and will reopen at 1pm on Friday, October 4.
Post Office regional network manager for Central England Adrian Wales said: “We understand how important the Post Office is to residents around Clitheroe and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around half of the Post Office network converting to new-style branches and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
