A Chorley pub is reopening this week after an extensive refurbishment.
The White Hart will reopen as a traditional pub downstairs and an upmarket cocktail with VIP area on the first floor, according to its new landlord.
Tony Fitzgerald is creating around 15 new jobs with the venture and has ploughed £500,000 into the refurbishment.
The building is owned by Chorley Council and the authority has contributed to the overhaul of the building which had fallen into disrepair.
Tony, who has spent the past 20 months working on his vision, said: “I’ve been a doorman for the past 14 years working at Applejax nightclub next to the White Hart. I’m from Chorley and know what the people in Chorley want.
“Chorley town centre is in need of a serious revamp, particularly its night life and I want to see people coming back into the town centre for a night out rather than going further afield.”
This weekend the pub will have a soft opening. Friday night will be ticket admittance only, Saturday night the pub will be open to the public downstairs and ticket admittance only to the cocktail bar.
