A SMALL care home in Blackburn said it has addressed ‘shortcomings’ highlighted by inspectors.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) said Higher Ravenswing Home for the Elderly, in Revidge Road, was failing to meet two key standards.
Concerns were raised that some medicines were ‘not stored safely’, as they were kept in a fridge which was also used to store food, and was accessible to everyone in the home.
The report added: “We found that in two cases there were discrepancies between the amount of medication held for the person and the administration record.”
Inspectors also highlighted care plans, as one resident’s file did not contain a plan.
However, the 14-bed home received positive comments, with the inspectors noting: “All the people we spoke with were happy with the care at Higher Ravenswing.”
Owner George Daniels said: “These shortcomings were addressed immediately, and the home works closely with CQC to ensure the highest standards are continually met.”
