A FUN day and football competition at Clitheroe Football Club has raised more than £1,000 for Diabetes UK.
The event, which was organised by the town’s Tesco store, also involved the supermarket giant’s stores in Great Harwood, Padiham and Haslingden.
The competition was won by Great Harwood who managed to beat Padiham in the final 2-1, and the event raised a total of £1,307 for the charity.
Dave Pollitt, store manager of the Clitheroe store, said: “We would really like to thank all Tesco colleagues, volunteers and members of the local community for their support in raising such a fantastic amount for Diabetes UK and making the day so enjoyable and successful.
“Special thanks needs to go to Clitheroe Football Club who allowed us the free use of their facilities.”
