Talented Chorley seven-year-old wins short story contest

A talented seven-year-old used “the magic of friendship” to scoop first prize in a national short story competition, winning a family weekend stay at Alton Towers.
Emma Benney, from Chorley created a fun short story featuring Tatty Teddy and My Blue Nose Friends.
She won a place at an enchanting storytelling weekend at Alton Towers which took place last weekend.
Emma took part in the storytelling sessions at Ma Garittas Bar in the Splash Landings Hotel, where the children can unwind with Blue Nose fun after an exciting day in the theme park.
Her prize included a family stay in the cute Tatty Teddy-themed room at the Alton Towers Resort Hotel, along with passes to enjoy an action-packed day in the theme park for four people.
Tatty Teddy and My Blue Nose Friends brand manager Catherine Lawrence, said: “We received an amazing amount of entries to the competition, proving just how responsive kids are to our brand.
“We really enjoyed reading all of the stories but were really impressed by Emma’s entry, which included wonderful amounts of detail and a lovely message about friendship being the greatest treasure one could possibly find.”
