Plans for Blackburn Festival to be discussed at open meeting

PEOPLE are being invited to a public meeting to discuss next year’s Blackburn Festival.
Following on from the success of this year’s event, committee chair Alex Martindale has invited anyone interested in the future of the festival to the meeting, on September 17 at 7pm at the Hornby Lecture Theatre in Blackburn Library.
Chaired by Coun Damian Talbot, the meeting will include a review of this year’s festival with a photographic presentation, some feedback from partner organisations, artists and attendees, and a discussion on how to improve Blackburn Festival in 2014.
There will be an opportunity for people to get involved in next year’s festival by taking a role in the planning of the event, by helping raise sponsorship or by volunteering for the day of the festival.
Refreshments will be provided and attendees are encouraged to spend time networking after the event.
There will also be a special general meeting held before the public meeting at 6.30pm,
