AROUND 300 people took to the stage to perform in the Real Mormon Musical as part of an event to celebrate 175 years of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Britain.

The ‘British Pageant’, held in Chorley, told the story of how missionaries came to the country, first to nearby Preston.

The show used an original script which included extracts from their journals.

The event included re-enactments, storytelling and original songs and dance.

The free evening performances saw the cast, from babies to people in their 80s, perform to hundreds in a temporary structure the size of two large school halls close to the town’s Mormon Temple.
