A bottling plant has unveiled a new production line which it says will safeguard around 120 jobs.
H&A Prestige Packing, based at Ackhurst Road, Chorley has been operating in the wines and spirits trade for more than 100 years and was acquired by Halewood International in 2003.
The company bottles a number of products for Halewood, including Whitley Neill Gin, Sidekick and Red Square Vodka, as well as other brands for other leading drink and food companies.
The new bottling line will allow H&A to produce a wider range of bottle formats in a variety of shapes and sizes from 187ml to 1.5l.
The sophisticated new equipment allows them to work with corked bottles, glass bottled spirits and will speed up the bottling process to allow orders to be turned around more swiftly.
Bob Woolf, managing director for H&A Prestige Packing, said: “Our new bottling line will enable will offer an enhanced range of bottling solutions. The new line will improve our capacity and enable the business to grow during the coming months in addition to securing existing employment within Chorley and surrounding areas. H&A Prestige is also looking to expand internationally, with interest from the US, Mexico and India, and the new line will help the business expand into these markets.”
