A DAD reacted like a ‘bear with a sore head’ when police turned up at his home at 8am and banged on the door, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Adrian Brett Hartley, 39, hurled abuse at officers through his front door, which he could not open, and then started a brawl with them outside.
Hartley, who had been drinking the night before and may have had drugs, put his thumb in an officer's eye. He was arrested. The jobless defendant, of Piccadilly Road, Burnley, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and police assault, on February 23. He was fined £70, with a £20 victim surcharge.
Hartley must also pay £100 compensation.
