Man faces attempted murder charge over Blackburn attack

A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted murder after an assault in Blackburn.
Steven Quigley, of Rothesay Road, Blackburn, is due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court today.
A second man, Gary Quigley, 42, of Hancock Street, Blackburn, has been charged with assisting an offender. He is also due to appear at court today.
The victim, a 41-year-old man, remains in a critical condition at the Royal Preston Hospital following an assault in his home in Coleridge Street in the early hours of Sunday, February 24.
Eleven people in total have been arrested in connection with the investigation. Nine have been released without charge.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and Crimestoppers is offering up to £5,000 for information passed on to the charity anonymously that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the attack.
