Last chance to enjoy Darwen film festival

TODAY is the last chance to catch a film at The People and Planet Film Festival at Darwen Library Theatre.

There will be a full day of free half-term entertainment, starting with ‘Fern Gull’ at 11am, ‘Bee Movie’ at 1pm, ‘Vanishing of the Bees’, a documentary about the declining bee population, at 3pm, and ‘Steamboy’ at 5pm.

That is followed by the screening of ‘Age of Stupid’, starring the late Pete Postlethwaite, from 7pm.

Before each screening, a film put together by local primary schools inspired by Darwen Tower called Darren’s Day Out will be shown.

There will be a festival closing party from 9pm.

All films are free, courtesy of Darwen Town Council and the Designated Community Rail Fund.
