GOOD causes in Chorley received more than £650,000 of National Lottery funding last year, according to figures released yesterday.
Twenty-seven grants were awarded across the town, providing a cash boost to local arts, sport and heritage projects and community groups helping the area’s most vulnerable people. In the last year, grants have included:
- £293,756 to Age UK Lancashire
- £9,984 to You’re Amazing C.I.C, a life-coaching project for young women
- £5,480 to Chorley Inferno Netball Club.
Now these projects, and any organisation that has received lottery funding in the past 18 years, have a chance to gain national recognition for their work as the National Lottery Awards 2013 opens for entries. The winners of The National Lottery Awards receive a £2,000 cash prize and national recognition at a star-studded event broadcast on BBC One.
The Awards are now open for entries and any projects wishing to enter can do so by visiting www.national lotteryawards.org.uk.
