Gritters are set to be out on Bolton's streets from 4pm today as snow is expected to fall on the town yet again.

Bolton Council is planning to cover 317 miles of road which is more than half of the total road network, it says.

It will also grit at 9pm and throughout the night, depending on the weather.

The bin wagons have been out emptying bins today but if the bin wagon driver was sent out on a gritter instead, then the two non LGV drivers on the bin crew can't empty any bins.

Anyway, the heavy rain is going to wash all the grit away. Large pools of water are already forming on some main roads.

my house is on a slight gradient so my bins wouldnt have been collected this morning . They should have a temp snow plough in front of their wagon. like the digger that was clearing the snow in the tesco car park a few weeks back
