Anger as 114 homes get the go-ahead (From This Is Lancashire)

not suprised what bolton council want. bolton council get same regarding bolton at home .but its ok for them to waist thousands of pounds on fencing on greenroyd ave .yes they put a fence up that cost 50k plus .and are now taking it down .

there would be no need to build new homes if they hady SOLD ALL THE COUNCIL houses if people can afford to buy they should go to the private sector and NOT THE COUNCIL propertys.

Isn't the land on Milnthorpe road,the land on which the Breightmet labour club stood before someone burnt it down?.

I wonder who made money from that?.

Bolton needs these houses for the influx of criminals from around the world.Rewards for their life of crime,we all know that crime pays.

No it isn't. The land the club stood on is currently being developed as Bolton Autistic Centre. The area referred to is the land between the former Labour Club site and Crossdale Road.

So have the moaning sods who are against helping to house people in this downtrodden town got any valid idea's on where to build viable cheap housing that is NOT town centre or greenbelt where the council struggle to fend off environmentalists and nimby's that do not want to build environmentally friendly eco-houses and such?

Fact this town is in need of new affordable housing stock. Regeneration projects have no cash and are stuck behind a mountain of red tape, oh and nimby's lol.

Was it around 20,000 or more people in this town that are close to homelessness, unable to get a council home or can't get on the housing ladder?

Stop being selfish and allow this town to move forward.

Asylum seekeers need to be housed some where 520 housed in Bolton in 2010 you can bet thats doubled in 2013.As the majority get to stay in soft touch uk.

Bolton council hate green space, they can't charge council tax on village greens etc, green space brings quality of life bolton council have no interest in its residents quality of life at all.

I understand that at least half of wagon road is still available as green space....milnthorpe road has a park opposite....

My parents live on Crossdale Road and the plans mean that they will no longer be able to open their back gate as the border fence for the estate will be right up against it. Currently they can open their back gate onto a field where I spent many happy hours as a child.. they will be left with a view of an ugly fence, they're very upset about the plans.

Its not selfish when your quality of life changes as it will for them and their house will lose value not to mention the stress of the noise while the estate is being built and the extra traffic etc it will generate round there

if bolton council did not pull 30+ houses down on greenroyd ave , then they would not need to build as meny .

WELL I OWN A PROPERTY ON WINCHESTER WAY AND THIS IS THE FIRST I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THIS - I CALLED THE PLANNING DEPT TODAY AND THEY SAID THAT THEY DONT KNOW OF ANY PROPOSALS TO BUILD ANY NEW HOMES IN THAT AREA. THEN I SPOKE TO ANOTHER PERSON WHO TOLD ME THERE IS. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY DONT SEND LETTERS OUT UNLESS ITS A NEIGHBOURS PLANNING SOMETHING BUT THEN I CALLED THEM AGAIN AND THEY SAID LETTERS WERE SENT OUT IN DEC - I DIDNT RECEIVE ANYTHING.

I AM MORTIFIED AS IVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A HOUSE THERE AND THE REASON FOR THE PURCHASE IS THAT I WANTED TO ENJOY THE VIEW - IT WILL DEVALUE MY HOME . My parents said it would have been easy to miss the letters as the envelopes were craftily left blank and could have been anything.. they also wanted objections to be submitted by the 26th Dec so obviously everyone would be busy with Xmas plans etc which is exactly what they were hoping for !!!

i agree , it was very craftlly done , the house is tenanted and my tenant might have missed the letter thinking it was just a leaflet (hes only young ) my tenant says he loves the view and its lovely and quiet and now hes upset about it and ive told him there is nothing we can do now and they would have build something on that land anyway at some stage in the future - just be happy its not a bing hall or high raised flats. Ive now seen the plans and they are actually planiting shrubs and things there, I also informed the planning dept that it will de value my property - the people to whom I spoke were rude and stroppy - it was some sort of call centre - not the planning dept itself - apparenlty you cannot speak to them directly ,- and told me that i dont 'buy' the view when i purchase a property so i have no right to it .
The only thing i can can to everyone who has a nice view - take advantage whilst you can - as its not really yours -
I really think that as we cannot fight this council - the public voice is never strong enough - althought we could try chaining ourselves to the trees - but im too old for that

My heart bleeds for the owners whose property will be de-valued.The council should never have sold the housing stock off. Social housing should be for the pay paid. Not for the work shy or the self styled tycoons cashing in on a cheap deal.If the council are serious about building low cost houses they could make a start on demolishing some of the delapidated commercial property in the town and build some there.
