BOLTON actress Helen Flanagan insisted she is not a bimbo and revealed she has been damaged by fame.

In an interview with a national newspaper, the 22-year-old said she has shed buckets of tears after critics branded her brainless and dumb, targeting her with hateful comments and criticism.

She said: “People want to make me out as this brainless airhead with big boobs.

“It really grates and hurts so much. I can be a bit ditzy and dizzy but I feel very misunderstood. How dare people say I am stupid?”

Yes Helen, you are stupid. You lack any real self-awareness and thought by playing the helpless maiden people would warm to you. Instead they decided you were a bit thick, spoilt, entitled and shallow. Millions of people can't be wrong, can they?

I suspect (much like Jordan) that she's not as stupid as we like to think. Her "career" is built on publicity so anything that gets her on to the front page is fair game. Shallow she may be but anyone who tries to treat as being dumb is only fooling themselves.

For me, it's Helen Skelton not Helen Flannagan. Helen has achieved so much, been a part of so much and I can imagine she would be an interesting and exciting partner on a night out. Looks are a personal matter of course. Helen Flanagan though, well what would a night out with her be like? what would you talk about????? I can only imagine another imbecile being enthralled by her life story . . . how long can a conversation centred around "gettin' my flabby tits out" last? Scott Sinclair must be either equally as dull and dim or desperate to put up with her.

I'll also add that I used to see Ms Flanagan on the Manchester to Bolton train quite regularly and she had quite an obnoxious manner. Partly protection i guess, but nevertheless not pleasant. As her star inexorably fades and she finds herself back where she came from - i wonder if her aloof manner will also pass into obscurity. Oh, and she is FAR from "bang tidy", the camera does indeed lie.
