Lily Hadden at Astley Hall
One of the last visitors to Astley Hall before it closed for winter was Mrs Lily Hadden, just days after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Mrs Hadden, who lives in Chorley, visited the hall with her family, some of whom had come from Australia to see her. She has eight children, four live ‘down under’, and four live in England. She also has 14 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Two of her sons and a daughter came over from Australia for the occasion and her party at St George’s Club. They joined her for the visit to the hall, which will reopen at Easter.
