MORE than 40 jobs are being created with the opening of a new nightclub in Burnley.
The former iconic Panama Joes site in Hammerton Street is set to open its doors on Friday as AlterEgo after a £250,000 revamp.
Bosses are promising to bring the same luxury and surroundings seen at top clubs in Ibiza and Marbella, attracting big name DJs and bands.
Business consortium POSUK are behind the new venue and established bar HotShots.
They are in talks to bring Radio One star Tim Westwood next year.
Promotions and marketing manager Chuko Odudu said the new jobs were aimed at people in the area.
“It would've been really easy to bring in people from Manchester that we know and have worked with before, but we wanted to use the talents, experience and expertise of the people of Burnley.
“We're really excited to be part of the regeneration of the town centre.”
The venue a Grade Two listed building, has a new sound system, furniture, dancefloor and a VIP room.
A VIP opening night party is also being staged on Saturday.
