MOVIE lovers in Bolton could see another change to the town's cinemas over the coming months.
Cineworld is the target of a joint takeover move by rival chains Odeon and Vue.
And that would mean new owners yet again for the Cineworld cinema at The Valley, Astley Bridge, which has previously been under the control of Virgin and UGC.
Vue and Odeon are planning a £400 million swoop on Cineworld and want to split the chain's 79 cinemas between them.
A takeover deal is expected to be complete by Christmas but, if it does not go ahead, Cineworld plans to float on the stock exchange.
Vue, Odeon and Cineworld would not comment on the proposed deal.
Christmas is expected to be busy at the box office, with new James Bond film Casino Royale likely to be a money-spinner.
And "Borat", the new film by Ali G comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, about a spoof reporter from Kazakhstan, has aleady become a huge hit.
