A 20-YEAR-OLD has been injured in a hit-and-run collision.
The man was riding a Peugeot Speedfighter scooter when he was knocked off in Raikes Lane at the junction with Burden Road shortly after 11.05pm yesterday.
He suffered a leg and back injury.
Police found a piece from a plastic bumper trim believed to have come from around a fog light. The item was manufactured to fit a Seat car - possibly an Ibiza, Leon or Altea model.
PC Simon McEvoy from the Road Policing Unit, said: “The driver has left a young man injured in the road without a second thought as to his welfare.
“Thankfully he was not gravely injured but the driver of the car would not have known that.
“I would also urge anyone who sees a Seat car with damage around the fog light, particularly a missing piece of plastic trim, or anyone who is asked to fix a vehicle with this damage, to call the police.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 8809.
