FIFTEEN people have been arrested in a series of raids across Blackburn on those suspected of offloading the blame for speed camera offences.
Twelve men and three women were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and will be questionned by police today.
Over 50 police officers from across East Lancashire were involved in the operation this morning, which was the first operation of its kind in the county, run by Lancashire Constabulary and the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety.
Chief Inspector Terry Woods said: "This operation should demonstrate our determination to take firm action against anyone suspected of dishonestly avoiding liability for speed camera offences."
Anyone with information or suspects someone is involved in this type of crime should contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
