Bentley takes the baton from Beckham

| PASSING THE BATON: Rovers star David Bentley replaces centurion David Beckham |
IT WAS the night that one 'DB' had been waiting for - but last night could have been the final time David Bentley plays second fiddle to David Beckham.
As widely tipped, David Beckham replaced the Rovers star on the right hand side of midfield to win his 100th cap.
And Bentley had to watch as his colleagues went a goal down, thanks to Franck Ribery's penalty, which proved to be the winner, following David James' foul on Nicolas Anelka after 32 minutes.
But the 23-year-old, who started in Fabio Capello's first game in charge against Switzerland last month, replaced the LA Galaxy man after 63 minutes - in what could be the end of the Beckham era.
Bentley had a few good moments but ultimately couldn't inspire his country as the French ran out comfortable winners.

Beckhams now got his 100th cap, lets hope thats now the end of it, its obvious that most of the England squad are just not good enough so get rid of the under performing old has beens and start a fresh with Bentley one of the front runners.

Barry Millar says it like it is. He's clearly right in his assessment of Bentley and the England team.
Now to get Capello to see some sense and stop playing the dismal failures who, for too long, have been representing England.
David Bentley could be at the centre of a fresh new GREAT England team.
