Boro close gap on rivals
RADCLIFFE Borough gave their survival hopes a huge shot in the arm with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Harrogate Railway.
Lee Connell added to Steve Howson's 31st goal of the season to seal the win for Boro, who suffered a nervy last 15 minutes when Adam Haywood pulled one back for the home side.
The victory means that Boro are now just three points from safety with two games in hand on nearest rivals Woodley Sports.
At the other end of the Division One North table, FC United consolidated their position in the play-offs with a comfortable 3-0 victory over struggling Chorley.
Rory Patterson took his tally to 36 for the season with goals after eight and 50 minutes.
Fellow striker Stuart Rudd capped a fine display by Karl Marginson's men when he found the back of the net in the 90th minute.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday, with Boro visiting Clitheroe and FC United hosting Lancaster City at Gigg Lane.
