Police are re-appealing for witnesses following crash in which a 26-year-old pedestrian died in Moston.

A silver Skoda Octavia private hire cab had collided with Cyprian Glosnicki, who was believed to be lying in the road near to the Dean Brook pub, St Mary's Road, just prior the collision at 1.30am on Saturday.

Cyprian suffered multiple injuries in the collision and was taken to North Manchester General Hospital where he later died.

Officers believe that Cyprian may have been in collision with another car prior to the incident and are appealing to anyone that may have been in the area of St Mary's Road between 12.30am and 1.30am to contact them.

Detective Inspector Mark Hussey from Grey Mere Lane CID said: "We know that Cyprian was at the local garage near the scene of the collision at about 12.30am.

"There were people in the area and cars on the road at this time and I am confident there are more potential witnesses that we are yet to speak to.

"It may be that the driver of the first car that was in collision with Cyprian did not realise they had hit someone, which is why I am keen to speak to whoever was in the area and may have seen something."

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Grey Mere Lane CID on 0161 856 1926.

A 44-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed until Monday, March 17, pending further inquiries.
