A RISHTON schoolboy will get his 15 minutes of fame tomorrow when he appears on BBC1 as part of the Easter coverage.

Lucas Burridge, eight, of Ullswater Close, Rishton, will be appearing in one of three 15 minute pre-recorded productions as part of the Preston Pas-sion event.

This year's event is set to be one of Preston Guild 2012’s landmark celebrations.

The event will be a unique, contemporary re-telling of Jesus’s Easter Passion story, combining live performance, music and pre-recorded drama.

The live event, hosted by Fern Britton, will be broadcast on BBC1, from Preston city centre tom-orrow between noon and 1pm.

As well as the live event, the three short pre-recorded dramas will be shown simultaneously on a big screen in Preston and on BBC1.

The Preston Passion is a culmination of work from Preston Guild 2012, the Arts Council, the BBC, Preston City Council and live audience participation.

Lucas, who attends St Charles RC Primary School, was thrilled to be selected to star alongside ex-Corrie star Julia Haworth (Claire Peacock), from Burnley, in the modern-day tale called 'Jesus'.

Other stars featuring in the pre-recorded events include EastEnders’ Samantha Bond (James Bond, Outnumbered, Downton Abbey), Paul Barber (Full Monty and Denzil in Only Fools and Horses) and Pooky Quesnel (The Body Farm, EastEnders).

Mum Diane said: “He’s done a few shows before but the BBC was the first audition he’d ever had, and he got it.

“He’s nervous about seeing himself on screen, but looking forward to it.”
