Due to a number of reasons, the prominent one being the horrendous British weather we’re enduring and the lack of summer holidays booked leading to early winter sun deals looking promising.
A report released on TravelMole.com claimed that Youtravel.com has had a surge on winter sun holidays, and has announced a 50% increase for November comparing to last year.
The most popular places that people look to visit are Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt, along with many Canary Islands including Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Spain also proving favourable with the Costa Blanca, Costa Brava and Costa Del Sol proving popular, aswell as holidays to The Algarve in Portugal and cheap holidays to Majorca.
Marketing director, Paul Riches, believes people are keen to get away for some sun during the winter period. A wider flight availability has helped with the demand this year, compared to the same time last year when the collapse of XL forced the industry into a state of panic.
He went on to say that the euro zone resorts are battling against other non-euro resorts, by adjusting their prices. All Inclusive packages are also appealing to holidaymakers easing some of the financial burden of spending money.
Mr Riches expects these strong sales to continue through to January, when sales traditionally peak. "The ruling of the Travel Republic case means that more agents are now getting involved with the dynamic packaging arena."
"The ruling of the Travel Republic case means that more agents are now getting involved with the dynamic packaging arena." The late booking trend is here to stay, however we're well-placed to capitalise on this due to the fast-moving nature of the DP market," he said.
With lots of cheap deals arising everyday, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for those fantastic bargains! If the Canary Islands and Egypt aren't right for you, book yourself cheap holidays to Majorca or one of the other Balearic Islands for a short flight, great price and some bright, gleaming, winter sun.
