All the glamour and glitter of the TV show was present in its bucket-loads as the celebrities and dancers hit the road for the live tour.

Manchester welcomed eight celebrities and their professional dancing partners as they performed ballroom and Latin dance routines in two and a half hours of the campest entertainment around.

The evening was filled with effeminate action, from judge Bruno Tonioli flailing his arms when judging the dances to comedian Julian Clary’s shaking maracas.

Not forgetting Craig Revel Horwood's blinding sparkly lapels.

There was, of course, plenty of beautiful dancing and choreography and the Latin style, coming in the second half, ensured the show concluded on a high.

The orchestra was superb throughout, putting its own stamp on some well-known music.

The audience texted in the name of their favourite celebrity dancer and the one with the most votes was the winner.

The judges still marked the dancers but this was only for guidance.

Despite last year's runners up, Rachel Stevens and partner Vincent winning on the night, the most entertaining dancing came from Julian Clary.

He and partner Lilia began their Latin dance by shaking maracas covered in glitter and shimmying around the dancefloor.

Rachel was a deserving winner on this night with her sultry and sexy smooth moves, but actress Jill Halfpenny was a close second in my opinion.
