ADAPTED from the French comedy Coup De Soleil, meaning ‘sun burn’, The Garrick’s latest production is timed well with the springtime sunshine of this week.

Love Affair, by Alfred Shaughnessy, runs at The ACE Centre from tomorrow until Saturday, as a ‘naughty but nice’ frothy comedy.

Directed by Dorothy Spencer, Love Affair centres on Parisienne parfumier Valentine (Vivienne Thornber) as she embarks on a wild affair with the young florist Patrick (Richard Holley), who delivers a lacklustre bouquet from her long-term lover Gerard (Alan Hargreaves).

When her son Jerome returns home with an older woman Brigitte (James Bateman and Noreen Lobo) whom he wishes to marry, Valentine clearly does not approve, but is hardly in a position to criticise.

With the return of Gerard, and the added complication of Valentine’s boss Jean and his designs on her maid Ghislaine (Steve Cooke and Catherine Cox), The Garrick promises ‘a hilarious, fun-filled, and very entertaining evening’.
