NEWLY-formed amateur dramatics group Buckshaw Village Amateur Musical Performers (VAMP) is holding its first auditions on Saturday, for its production of The Best Little Nightclub In Chorley.
Formed by village resident Ed Cunningham, the company is being backed by NODA, and is looking for male and female dancers – aged 16 and over – to tackle numbers by Elvis, The Beatles, and The Village People, as well as from musicals such as Grease and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The two leading roles of cleaning ladies, one aged around 50 and the other about 30, are also to be cast.
A society spokeswoman said: “We hope to perform our first show In February but more importantly we hope to bring a community feeling to Buckshaw Village which, as one of the largest new estates in Europe, can sometimes feel isolating to new residents.”
Auditions will take place on Saturday, at Buckshaw Village's Community Centre from 4pm to 7pm. For more information visit www.buckshawvamp.co.uk.
