BRITISH Summer time is in full flow with the nights getting ever so lighter, and now the weather is on the turn too.

The blossom on the trees and daffodils have announced the 'real' beginning of spring and it's about time our wardrobe caught up.

We have already been subjected to a mad fashion-frenzy, thanks to last week's freakish 'hot' spell (although in reality it wasn't all that hot...).

Indeed the shorts, sleeveless tops, sandals and even those maxi dress-denim jacket combos have been out in full swing courtesy of those brave yet goose-pimpled wearers.

Finding the happy medium for work or play days to suit both the warm sun and chilly shade can be a pain.

And despite rambling about the right jacket for this time of year only a couple of weeks ago it's already time to talk about the rest.

The first thing to tackle those potential over-heating situations is to bite the bullet and change your shoes.

Unless it is raining, boots are soon to be no more so a suitable spring replacement pair is in order.

Why not go for sand boots or plimsolls for kicking about, and brogues or pumps for something more formal.

Next is what's on the bottom.

Let your legs breathe with a pair of crops - whether that's chinos, linens or jeans.

Head to Topshop which has an ahead-of-trend pair of cropped kick flares.

These jeans are straight from the 70s and were tried and tested by no other than Alexa Chung who paid homage to the disco decade at London's Fashion Week in February.

At just £36 they deliver both style and practicality.

Match with any of the above footwear.

Dress up with a sheer blouse and oversized tote or down with a plain tee and leather jacket.

For something easy to wear day to day, Joules has a pink striped casual dress with two front pockets at £59.95.

Simply wear over jeans or leggings and team with sandals or pumps.
