AFTER 30 years together Stiff Little Fingers show no signs of growing old gracefully - a major relief to the seething mass of fans who sang, chanted, danced and jumped around during this special anniversary show.

SLF have still got pulling power, the sold out notices were on the door and groups of fans were gathered outside in the vain hope of a spare ticket.

On stage Jake Burns was in fine form - and fine voice - as he led the band through many of the songs that have made them the great survivors of the punk/new wave era.

With original bassist Ali McMordie back in the fold, it was suddenly 1977 all over again as the band ripped into song after song.

To mark 30 years together they played the whole of their debut album Inflammable Material track by track and it is a credit to the band that they still sounded as fresh and as relevant as when the album was released.

Energy is at the heart of any SLF gig and the audience knows that they are expected to play their part.

So the beer soaked, sweat stained masses entered into the spirit with gusto.

As Jake Burns sang the lyric from the title track of the band's last studio album "I believe in the power of guitar and drums" you could see why.
