Stone's 'good superhero girlfriend'
Emma Stone has said she believes her Spider-Man character Gwen Stacy is a "well-rounded" character.
The actress said that despite the fact her character in The Amazing Spider-Man is strong and capable, it would be wrong to say she was "just bad-a**".
"I think there is an element of damsel in distress, ultimately," Emma explained.
"I find it hard to say she's just bad-a**, she's so strong, she knows what she's doing, because I think it's very important that people know that people are not just that way, there's also stupid in love, and making decisions that put yourself in the face of danger."
And the Zombieland star - who is rumoured to be dating Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield in real life - thinks Gwen's character makes her a good girlfriend.
Emma said: "I think she's a very well-rounded superhero girlfriend, she doesn't just fit into a box of being just strong and just smart, she's also got elements of being in distress and being scared and vulnerable."
Meanwhile, it has just been confirmed that The Amazing Spider-Man is the first in a trilogy about the superhero.
A statement on the film's official Facebook posted this week revealed: "The Amazing Spider-Man is the first instalment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents."
The second movie is already under way as Deadline reported that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have been hired to rewrite James Vanderbilt's script for the sequel.
The reboot follows Peter Parker, played by Andrew, as a high school kid when he first gets his spider powers, and the back story to the disappearance of his parents.
