The Spice Girls would like to see drama school pupils cast in their musical
The Spice Girls have admitted they would love girls from their old drama schools to be cast in their musical.
The band - Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Mel B - reunited to unveil their new musical, written by Jennifer Saunders and produced by Mamma Mia!'s Judy Craymer, which is set to the songs of the Spice Girls.
Mel C said: "When you go to shows in the West End you do see a lot of the same theatre school and performing arts colleges.
"Emma went to Sylvia Young's, Victoria went to Laine Theatre Arts, I went to Bird College... Geri studied in the theatre school of life.
"We're hoping that people are cast from the schools."
Victoria added: "I think I would like to invite Betty Laine to see the show. She's such a huge part of my life."
The girls revealed they had been moved to tears seeing the workshop of the musical, the story of a mother and daughter's changing relationship as the daughter is launched to fame through a reality TV show.
But Emma added: "It is weird hearing other people sing our songs."
