A MUSIC festival due to take place this weekend has been cancelled due to severe adverse bad weather.

Frankie and the Heartstrings, Tom Vek, Mr Scruff, Emmy the Great, Toddla T and Willy Mason were all due to entertain revellers at the Beacons Festival.

However, the approach road to the site, at Heslaker Farm, between Pendle and Skipton, is flooded with two feet of water.

In a statement on their website, organisers say the event site is no longer considered safe for a public audience in the opinion of the authorities.

They will start to deal with refunds next week.
