BEAUJOLAIS has been in the news recently with hefty fines for France's biggest producer found guilty (under some archaic rules) of illegally mixing different vintages.

But here's a good example of a reasonably-priced product of the Gamay grape from the Morgon region where wines are heavier and lean towards Burgundy and Pinot Noir.

Lovely cherry flavours and another great summer drink.

MORGON 2002, £5.99, Morrisons.
