Review: London River (12A)

Running time: 88 mins.

DIRECTOR Rachid Bouchareb chronicles the aftermath of the 2005 bombings in London through the eyes of two strangers looking for their missing children.

God-fearing widow Elisabeth (Brenda Blethyn), who enjoys a simple life on Guernsey, leaves her cottage and heads to London to track down her daughter Jane and ease her fears. During her search, she meets an enigmatic African man called Ousmane (Sotigui Kouyate), who is looking for his son Ali.

A photograph suggests that Jane and Ali knew each other so Elisabeth and Ousmane join forces to track down their offspring as the capital comes to terms with the tragedy.
