Three-times BBC Folk Award nominee Bella Hardy plays Bury Met on November 26.
With special guests Anna Massie and Chris Sherburn, Bella Hardy’s brilliant Bright Morning Star tour features a repertoire of seasonal treats, from her local Castleton carols Down In Yon Forest and All In The Morning, to well known favourites O, Come All Ye Faithful and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
She will also be singing her arrangement of The Coventry Carol, which was shown on BBC2 on Christmas Day in 2008 as part of Howard Goodall’s show The Truth About Carols.
Bella has been a member of groups such as Ola and The Pack, but she has gained a reputation for being a shining light of the folk scene after the release of her album Night Visiting in 2007.
Famed for entwining her hypnotic voice with her own fiddle accompaniment to stunning effect, Night Visiting secured Bella a raft of rave reviews, and 2008 saw a packed year of gigs and festival appearances.
* Bella Hardy plays The Met, Bury, on Friday, November 26. Tickets cost £12. To book, visit themet.biz or ring 0161 761 2216.
