IF the on-screen battles of the World Cup are already proving too much - but you still need a football fix - head to Burnley Mechanics on June 17.
Two members of the 1966 England winning team, Sir Geoff Hurst and Gordon Banks OBE are the hosts of the ‘66 Reunion Dinner bringing their memorable and amusing experiences from the feted golden year.
For 10 years, Banks wasn’t just England’s goalkeeper. He was indisputably the best in the world.
And Sir Geoff Hurst needs no introduction around the world; a living legend and the only man on the planet to have ever scored a World Cup Final hat trick, retaining a unique place in the history of sport.
He is still, nearly half a century after the event, an iconic figure in global sport.
* ‘66 Reunion Dinner, Burnley Mechanics, Thursday 7pm. Tickets £40, including two-course dinner with coffee.
