Cruiser runs aground off coast
A second boat has ran aground on the Fylde coast, this time in Lytham.
While not on the same scale as the stricken ferry Riverdance, the pleasure cruiser Coco Leoni, which is stranded on the sands close to Lytham windmill, is likely to be stuck there for a couple of weeks.
Three men were rescued from the motor cruiser about half-a-mile off the shore at around around 2.30pm yesterday.
Coastguards said that the vessel could stay for two weeks in order to catch the next high tides.
The men were sailing to Peel in the Isle of Man from Preston when they became beached.
They were taken to safety by the Lytham inshore lifeboat.
