Pet dog is target of armed raider
POLICE are hunting a knife-wielding thug who tried to rob a teenager of his pet dog.
The 17-year-old boy was walking his Bull Mastiff dog around the banks of Elton Reservoir on Sunday afternoon when a male, armed with a knife, jumped out of bushes and demanded the animal. The terrified teenager managed to escape and run home with the dog.
The offender is described as white, in his mid 20s, approximately 5ft 11 ins tall, with brown eyes. He was wearing a black nike hooded top with Nick trainers and a black tracksuit.
Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any further information about the offender's identity is asked to contact Bury police's Priority Crime Unit on 0161 856 8079. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
